Honeyed Apple Yoghurt Bowl
Tumblr media
This Honeyed Apple Yoghurt Bowl, a simple yet delicious mid-afternoon treat, is like a harvest gift (and makes a lovely brekkie, too!)
Ingredients (serves 1):
1 tablespoon silvered almonds
1 teaspoon pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
half a large apple, rinsed
2 teaspoons pure fragrant honey (like Provence Flowers Honey from Marseille!)
1/3 cup goat's milk yoghurt
In a small frying pan over a high flame, quickly toast silvered almonds and pumpkin seeds until fragrant and just browned. Transfer to a small bowl or plate; set aside.
Return frying pan over the fire, and reduce heat to medium. Add butter.
Core and dice apple. Once the butter is just foaming, add apple dices, and cook, coating in butter, about 5 minutes, until tender and browned. Drizzle with one teaspoon of honey, shaking the pan, to coat the apple dices, and remove from the heat.
Spoon goat's milk yoghurt into serving bowl. Top with honeyed apple, and sprinkle with toasted almonds and pumpkin seeds. Drizzle with remaining honey.
Enjoy Honeyed Apple Yoghurt Bowl immediately.

Welcome to TheToastedAlmonds ramble time;
I love blackmahdi as a ship, but you know what we need more of?
STRONG NAHYUTA
Give me Nahyuta with the pursual!
Having them spar? Your telling me Nahyuta doesn't just sweep the leg and win?
Give me more equal standing in blackmahdi!!!
We don't need to be constrained to the societal norms!!! Let them both fill each 'role'!!!!!

anyway uncomfortable bathroom experiences are 0% your fault and 100% the fault of people who designed bathrooms to be uncomfortable. the fact that you live in a world where other people made choices that you have to live with does not make those choices yours.
(2/2)
thank you for saying this. i have personally never enjoyed using public bathrooms, even when they're clean and well-maintained, for precisely this reason - and men's bathrooms are so much worse than women's when it comes to privacy. maybe i'd feel differently if i'd been raised male, but the idea of having to pee in front of strangers is just bizarre to me. i also find it baffling when (sorry for the mildly sexist generalisation) groups of girls all go to the bathroom together as a sort of social activity; if anyone can give me an explanation for this one, please do, because i have never understood it.
anyway yes you're completely correct, bathrooms are uncomfortable, and it's much worse when your gender presentation is - like mine - androgynous enough that you're gonna have a bad time no matter which one you use. "the fact that you live in a world where other people made choices that you have to live with does not make those choices yours" is a great way to look at it. might trot that one out next time my mum uses the "you chose this" argument on me

Maple Pear Yoghurt
Tumblr media
This delicious Maple Pear Yoghurt, with its beautiful contrast between the soft, warm, buttery pear and the cool, thick, creamy yoghurt, make both a satisfying breakfast or mid-afternoon snack. You can even have it as a dessert! Happy Monday!
Ingredients (serves 1):
1/2 tablespoon silvered almonds
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
a large, just ripe pear, rinsed
1 tablespoon pure (Grade A) Canadian Maple Syrup
1/2 cup thick Greek Yoghurt
In a medium frying pan, toast silvered almonds over a high flame until golden brown and fragrant. Transfer to a small plate; set aside.
Return the pan over the flame, reduce heat to medium-high, and melt butter in the pan.
Halve and core pear, and cut it into slices.
Once the butter is just foaming, add pear slices to the pan, and cook, until softened and golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes, flipping the pear slices over halfway through cooking. Drizzle with half of the Maple Syrup. Cook, 1 minute more. Remove from the heat.
Spoon Greek Yoghurt into serving bowl. Top with warm Maple pear slices, and sprinkle with toasted silvered almonds. Drizzle with remaining Maple Syrup.
Enjoy Maple Pear Yoghurt immediately.

well if period cramps are good for anything they're good for 1) getting a little snack and 2) explaining why the sight of church guy laughing and chatting with two young women after the service caused a depression and petulantly despairing near-swearing off the crush again that would have been crippling if it had been dwelt on in any capacity instead of violently smothered by eating dinner, writing an unrelated blog post, and doomscrolling until far too late in the evening
